Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Aide to join our team in providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. The Laundry Aide is responsible for collecting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident and facility laundry while following proper infection control protocols and ensuring resident belongings are treated with care and respect.

Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and transport soiled linens, towels, and clothing from resident rooms and facility areas
  • Sort laundry by color, fabric, and cleaning requirements
  • Operate commercial washers and dryers safely and efficiently
  • Fold, sort, and organize clean laundry
  • Deliver laundered items to appropriate resident rooms or storage areas
  • Label and track resident clothing when required
  • Inspect linens and clothing for stains or damage; report issues as needed
  • Follow safety procedures and infection control guidelines at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundry area and report equipment malfunctions
  • Assist with inventory and restocking of laundry supplies
  • Communicate respectfully with residents, family members, and staff

 

Working Conditions:
  • May require weekend, evening, or holiday shifts
  • Exposure to heat, cleaning chemicals, and soiled laundry
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive motion

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior laundry or housekeeping experience is a plus, especially in healthcare or senior living
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for long periods
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Compassionate attitude and respect for the elderly
